New online tools give multinational customers even more ways to control total cost of ownership. Services and options include one bill for all countries, usage analysis, SLA reporting, split billing, split reporting and bank / payroll collections.

The Hague, February 11th 2008 - Sympac, KPN’s European mobile service provider, has joined forces with Ezwim, a leading Software-as-a-Service provider, to introduce a new Telecom Expense Management service that gives multinational companies unrivalled insight into their costs – and enables them to take control of their telecom spending like never before.

The move is an exciting development for multinational companies that are determined to squeeze maximum value from their European mobile communications. And with research having found that over 50% of enterprises don’t know what they spend on mobile communications – yet more than 40% know it will be more in the future – there are plenty of savings to be made.

Transparent international reporting and total cost of ownership are key aspects of Sympac’s service and the new Telecom Expense Management takes these to an even higher level. An integral part of Sympac’s proven online Webservices, the new service includes a number of standout features that will give Sympac customers an even deeper insight into what they spend on mobile communications. Key features include:

One bill in one format, available online, any time, any where

Advanced measurement and management information on usage analysis (trend reporting, user reporting)

Cost allocation per subsidiary, cost centre, and more sublevels

Service Level Agreement reporting

Fleet management services for improved auditability of all included assets

End-user access to promote cost awareness

Split billing according to private and business use

Bank/payroll collections for private use

Particularly exciting are the split-billing and bank and/or payroll collection possibilities. With split billing, Sympac can divide mobile usage into business and private usage according to the telecom manager’s, or even the end-user’s, criteria. Sympac can separate business and private calls, and even ensure that the business and personal elements are billed and paid accordingly, via a third party.

The Telecom Expense Management service offers a number of other benefits as well, including:

Significantly reducing the cost of processing expense claims (employee and administrator time)

Making it easier for users to allocate calls as private or business, so increasing productivity

Improving management control by making corporate policies easier to enforce centrally and automatically

“The basic problem facing multinationals is that it can be hard for them to understand and manage their total cost of mobile communications,” said Niek de Jong, Marketing Director of Sympac. “This is why we place so much emphasis not just on tariffs and eliminating hassle, but also on reporting and management tools. Our Telecom Expense Management service is excellent in this regard and offers our customers new opportunities to further reduce their total cost of ownership.”

“Ezwim’s reporting tools are the most advanced there are,” said Ron van Valkengoed, CEO of Ezwim. “More and more multinationals are seeing the benefits of consolidation and centralisation, and the Ezwim tools were developed to provide them with a truly global service. It addresses their need to reduce TCO with new reporting and management tools, self-service and simplified fiscal compliance. We are very proud of our relationship with Sympac. Our Software-as-a-Service model enables easy integration and allows us to offer Sympac’s customers the best service in terms of functionality, performance and TCO.”

ABOUT SYMPAC
Sympac has been rewriting the telecom rules since 2005, when it began providing customised solutions for European mobile communications.

Working via its own network and through partner mobile network operators, Sympac is the only multinational service provider that delivers the same services and pricing structure across every major European country. Organisations employing 500 people or more can create their own mix of mobile voice, mobile internet and mobile data communication solutions, including hardware support and helpdesk services, so providing opportunities for multinational companies to significantly reduce their total cost of ownership.

Sympac is also the first European service provider to offer one contract, one contact and one bill. This gives companies an immediate view of their total spend – and the opportunity to reduce the total cost of their mobile communications.

Company Announces the Latest Release of its Telecom Expense Management Service for Enterprises.

AMSTERDAM, September 3 2007/PRNewswire/

Ezwim the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider for Telecom Expense Management services, today announced the launch of Total Telecom Management 8.3 (TTM 8.3). The enhanced service enables Telecom Managers to get visibility into the rising telecom expenditures, visibility is essential to reducing cost and making forward-thinking decisions on telecom infrastructure build-outs like VOIP. TTM 8.3 reflects the evolving requirements of the Telecom Manager as enterprises continue to face increased telecom spending levels of over 8% per year because roaming, mobile data, and private usage is on the rise.
TTM 8.3 introduces three key enhancements that provide enhanced business intelligence, subscription advice and VOIP business cases on demand. The service automatically generates VOIP business cases based on actual telecom usage. This in-depth analysis of phone usage between offices and between fixed lines and mobiles offers a sound basis for strategic decision making to engage in VOIP or to introduce Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC). In addition to the existing reports on usage and cost TTM 8.3 now also offers a powerful flexible report generator allowing customers to access custom made reports used in support of procurement or ad-hoc reporting. TTM 8.3 has the unique ability to offer subscription advise to ensure organisations are using the right operator price plan so telecom spend remains optimised throughout the contract period.

“TTM 8.3 enables our customers to reduce their telecom costs and helping them make better decisions to optimize their telecom resources” said Ron van Valkengoed, CEO of Ezwim. “The voice of our clients has been the driving force of this renewed service.”

Amsterdam, August 14, 2007 – The Current Analysis advisory report titled “Mobilising the Enterprise: The Real Costs and Complexities” is a synopsis of some of the themes at a recent EVUA event. The EVUA is an end-user organization of 70-plus MNC customers representing an ICT spend of EUR 3 billion. The report highlights the problem enterprises are facing of having little control over mobile cost and the struggle to understand and manage this.

“Enterprises continue to face increased mobile spend as roaming and mobile data is on the rise while having limited means to control the usage of it, the situation is further aggravated due to the increasing mobility of employees in combination with the use of more advanced mobile devices and mobile data; enterprises are able to save >20% by improving cost and service management,” said Ron van Valkengoed Managing Director of Ezwim, the leading European Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider that offers Telecom Expense Management (TEM) services to enterprises and Online Telecom Management (OTM) services to telecom operators.

In this report Current Analysis describes key enterprise challenges discussed at EVUA. A major theme for enterprises is identifying and changing employee behaviour. For example today it is common to use a mobile whilst being near a fixed line phone and use the mobile for both company and private calls. Most telecom-managers are only guessing how much use of the mobile phone is private although Tax laws stipulate that private usage is being taxed. Changing employee behaviour is a key challenge for bringing costs under control and this can only be done by creating a strong corporate-wide policy for managing mobile services. Today many enterprises do not have a central inventory nor a formal policy for managing mobile devices and have insufficient insight on the actual Total Cost of Ownership, device usage etc.

“During the EVUA event it became clear that enterprises want to act and take control of their telecom spend,” said Ed Vonk CEO of EVUA. “There is a continuing trend to centralise procurement and service management while getting the right support from Telecom Expense Management tools. This will allow enterprises to save millions of euros by controlling and directing usage and by making efficiency gains through for instance remote device management.”

Current Analysis recommends mobile operators to move beyond connectivity and offer a true end- to-end managed proposition. They should offer reporting tools to enable customers to understand the true costs of mobile services. Enterprises should be able to get billing information down to individual departments and users. Current Analysis recommends enterprises to gain control over mobile expense management by centralising procurement of mobile services and devices and consider the support from neutral third parties to offer detailed cost and usage reporting.
Current Analysis recognises Ezwim as a key Telecom Expense Management provider that can help enterprises to gain control over telecom expenses and management. Ezwim also offers a full range of online Telecom Management Services (OTM) to operators.
